Job Vacancy – Finance Manager

Our client, a leading hospitality company with operations in Laikipia and its head office in Nairobi, Kenya, is seeking to recruit a highly talented and dynamic professional to fill the following position: 

FINANCE MANAGER

Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that financial resources are managed professionally, safeguarded from possible loss and utilized optimally. The role will involve financial planning and reporting, budgeting and budgetary control, cash flow management, tax compliance, treasury management, costing, and supporting strategic business decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee and continuously improve accounting systems, financial procedures, and internal controls in line with company policies and shareholder requirements.
  • Prepare and implement budgets, financial plans, and budgetary controls to support business operations and strategic objectives.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, bank relationships, foreign accounts, and treasury functions to ensure optimal financial performance.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial, management, and statutory reports in compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and statutory obligations, including accurate computation, filing, and payment of taxes.
  • Analyze financial performance, monitor budget variances, identify operational gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support strategic planning, investment projects, and business reviews through financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Coordinate stock takes, stock valuation, and costing processes for products and services.
  • Lead, supervise, and evaluate finance department staff while promoting high performance and accountability.
  • Maintain effective relationships with banks, suppliers, auditors, and other service providers to ensure efficient service delivery.

 

Key Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Competencies 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Management with CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a similar finance management role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, costing, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Oracle hospitality systems (Opera, MC, Sun, etc.) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical use of integrated financial management systems, internal controls systems, ERP platforms, and digital finance tools.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills with high integrity and reliability.
