Job Vacancy – Storekeeper

Our client, Mutara Camp, a leading company in the hospitality industry based in Laikipia, is seeking to recruit a highly talented and dynamic professional to fill the following position:

STOREKEEPER
Reporting to the Head Office Accountant, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring timely stock replenishment, and upholding safety and security standards within the store. This role is crucial in supporting the camp’s operational efficiency by ensuring all stock items are well-managed, stored properly, and issued as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verifying all deliveries against dispatch lists and invoices while updating stock records, including bin cards and daily stock summaries.
  • Actively participating in the receiving and inspection of goods to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment with the L.P.O.
  • Generating goods received notes (Vendor Bills) for received items and submitting them to Accounts for payment.
  • Issuing materials to the kitchen and bar as per requisitions while ensuring accuracy and proper stock documentation.
  • Monitoring inventory levels to prevent stock shortages, spoilage, expired/dead stock, or overstocking, and preparing purchase requisitions for timely replenishment.
  • Preparing and submitting weekly and monthly store reports, including outstanding orders.
  • Conducting periodic (scheduled and ad-hoc) stock takes while reconciling variances and addressing queries.
  • Monitoring and recording freezer temperatures daily, reporting any irregularities to R&M,

    HODs, and the Camp Manager for corrective action.

  • Ensuring timely submission of invoices to the Camp Accountant for deliveries made to stores.
  • Complying with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to store management, receiving procedures, and inventory control

Key Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Competencies

  • Diploma in Storekeeping, Warehousing, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in store management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of Materials Control (MC) Systems is an added advantage.
  • Strong record-keeping and inventory management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills with proficiency in English.
  • Honest, diligent, and trustworthy.
