Vacancy- Claims Assistant

Our client in the insurance industry that consistently provides innovative, unique, and affordable products and services that exceed customers’ expectations, is seeking to recruit a highly talented and dynamic professional to fill in the following position based in Westlands Branch, Nairobi:



Reporting to the Claims Manager, you will be responsible for providing the highest level of quality customer service, analyzing, and responding to queries regarding claims processes including but not limited to the due processing settlement of claims.


Key Responsibilities

  • Registering and acknowledging new claims
  • Supporting the customer in filling up the insurance claim forms and other documents
  • Analyzing the claims to determine the extent of liability and according to policy rules recommend for claims investigations or settlements
  • Attending to customer complaints and escalate according to the departmental processes
  • Collecting the required information from brokers and advising them on claims processes
  • Appoint service providers and liaise with them to ensure timely reports as per the Service Level Agreements
  • Analyze and recommend claims for approvals or decline according to the claim’s approval matrix
  • Ensuring timely updates of departmental registrars
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure efficiency in claims processing


Key Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business from a recognized university
  • Part qualification in a relevant professional field in ACII/AIIK
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the insurance claims handling
  • Good knowledge of the insurance industry
  • Knowledge of IRA and Laws governing the industry
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
