Our client, Acorn Management Services Limited is a vertically integrated developer, operator, and asset manager of rental housing with a mission to transform and improve the living conditions of the people of Africa by creating sustainable communities coupled with innovative capital investment projects. 

They are seeking to recruit a highly talented and dynamic professional to fill the following position based in Nairobi, Kenya:

HUMAN RESOURCE BUSINESS PARTNER

Reporting to the Human Resources Director; the Human Resource Business Partner will be responsible for recruitment, performance management, staff documentation, capturing payroll changes, staff movements, leave management, and disciplinary management. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Senior HRBP to ensure the smooth execution of HR processes and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop job descriptions, source, screen, interview candidates, and manage the hiring process.
  • Supporting the performance appraisal process by guiding managers and employees, setting goals, and monitoring progress.
  • Ensuring timely evaluations, inputting KPIs and OKRs into the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), tracking contract milestones, and addressing performance issues through improvement plans.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Capturing and processing payroll changes, coordinating with the Senior Human Resource Business Partner for accuracy and compliance, as well as addressing payroll-related queries from employees and resolve discrepancies.
  • Facilitating internal staff movements by coordinating transfers, promotions, and job rotations while ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Monitoring and managing employee leave balances while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Managing disciplinary processes and providing guidance to managers on handling employee misconduct issues.
  • Staying updated on employment laws, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring company policies align with regulations.

Academic Qualifications, Experience, and Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Must be a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM-K). Possession of a CHRP-K (Certified Human Resources Professional-Kenya) certification will be an added advantage. 
  • Have 3+ years of experience in HR roles with exposure to recruitment, performance management, and payroll processes.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.
